About Pilsner Urquell
Brewed in Plzeň, Czech Republic, since 1842, Pilsner Urquell is the world's first golden pilsner and the original of the style that most beers now follow. Still brewed with Saaz hops and parallel-fermented against the original recipe; part of Asahi.
Tasting notes
The original pilsner, brewed in Plzeň since 1842 using Saaz hops, Moravian barley and soft local water. Deep golden with a dense white head, it balances rich caramel malt against a distinctive, assertive hop bitterness and a long, clean finish. The benchmark by which all pale lagers are measured.
